Lima, January 24, 2019.- National businessmen of the wood sector culminated their participation in the Domotex 2019 German trade fair with commercial commitments that reach US $ 3.3 million, to materialize in the next 12 months, informed the Commission of Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PROMPERÚ).

This activity, which took place between January 11 and 14 in Hannover, was aimed at promoting the internationalization of small and medium-sized companies in the line of wood manufactures. In this edition, exporters from Lima and Madre de Dios and the Ucayali Exporter Consortium (CEMU Ucayali) participated, representing the twelve SMEs that comprise it.

The buyers who visited the Peruvian pavilion in Domotex highlighted the colors of the solid wood for interiors and the quality of its finishes, as well as the variety of species handled by the floor displays. Among the most demanded products were the solid floors for interiors and the decking for exteriors.

The buyers most interested in the Peruvian offer were those from Germany, France, Belgium and Denmark.

In this way, Peru proved to be a differentiated supplier of the sector due to the high strength, durability and natural beauty of its wood. On the other hand, it is important to mention that the goal of attracting new business contacts was fulfilled, which was done with the support of the Commercial Office of Peru Abroad (OCEX) of Germany.

The participation in the Domotex fair was organized by PROMPERÚ and the OCEX of Germany, and had the technical support of Import Promotion Desk (IPD). It should be noted that most participating companies have certification in forest management (FSC or Chain of Custody) and carbon neutral emission.
